Call for Applications for Migrant Organizations and Community Representatives

Subjective Values Foundation invites applications from NGOs and community representatives to advocate the interests of migrant groups living in Hungary during consultations with public authorities and administrative bodies, under the auspices of the project “Complex training and mentoring program to strengthen the political participation of migrants.”


Who we are looking for:

  • Non-EU citizen representatives of migrant NGOs , with a knowledge of English (a knowledge of Hungarian is an asset)
  • Non-EU citizen individuals legally residing in Hungary (“migrant community representatives”), with a residence permit for more than three months, or having been granted asylum, with a knowledge of English (a knowledge of Hungarian is an asset)


Tasks:

  • Surveying the problems and needs of a migrant community in Hungary
  • Representing a migrant community in Hungary at the Migrant Policy Forum, which will be implemented as part of the project and will include ten round-table talks up to May 2018
  • Participating in our training courses related to the methodologies of the above-mentioned tasks (see details below)


What we offer:

  • Four 30-hour free training courses for representatives of migrant NGOs in the following subject areas: legal and ethical aspects of leading NGOs, fundraising, resource management, communication for NGOs, social and cultural skill development (an NGO can assign different representatives to each course)
  • 60 hours of free training for migrant community representatives in the following subject areas: introduction to the political system of Hungary, political approaches to migration in Hungary, the representation of migration in the Hungarian media, the protection of the interests of migrants in Hungary, advocacy and debate skills
  • 5 hours of legal consultancy for migrant NGOs*
  • 10 hours of individual mentoring for migrant community representatives*
  • A total stipend of HUF 100,000*

*Only for select participants.
